Canada kicks Kyoto to the curb

Canada officially renounced the expiring Kyoto Protocol on Monday, a day after international negotiators agreed to extend the treaty's limits on carbon emissions blamed for a warming climate.

Environment Minister Peter Kent said Ottawa would keep working to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and help negotiate a new framework for a global pact. But in a statement to reporters on his return from last week's climate conference in South Africa, Kent said that for Canada, Kyoto "is in the past."

I like this Stephen Harper from Canada. Why throw the Canadian economy under the bus if the two largest countries have no intention of going along with this. In effect the prime Minister of Canada is saying Canada first. A lesson for US politicians.

Canada is making the right call considering the whole sham of AGW is collapsing and being recognized as one of the biggest scientific scams of all time.

Unseasonable cold greeted delegates to the U.N. conference on climate change in Durban, South Africa, Nov. 28. They were chilled more by the impending collapse of one of the most brazen scams in the history of the world.

The warnings of the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change that the world faced doom from anthropogenic (man-made) global warming were based on peer-reviewed scientific literature, the IPCC chairman claimed. But when Canadian writer Donna LaFramboise checked the 18,531 references in the 2007 report, she found 5,587 were newspaper and magazine articles written by non-experts, unpublished theses and pamphlets produced by environmental groups.

IPCC reports supposedly were written by leading scientists. Ms. LaFromboise found many authors were graduate students selected more for political connections and "diversity" than for expertise. This explains, in part, why these reports contain so many factual errors.

Fraud is a better explanation. The blog New Nostradamus of the North reports that Dr. Nils-Axel Morner asked a British member of the IPCC in 2003 why the IPCC altered data to indicate sea levels were rising when they were not. "We had to, otherwise there would be no trend," he told Dr. Morner.

I predicted long ago once the world economy began to struggle this scam would collapse on its own contradictions. Canada is the first country to throw AGW under the bus, it will not be the last.
